Packaging Commercializes two Applications in Proprietary IntuiDose™ Design
Contract Pharmaceutical Packager Launches Products in Compliance Prompting,
Child Resistant Drug Packaging
1-11-2010
Rockford, IL
(January 11, 2010) - Anderson Packaging announces the first two commercial
applications of the IntuiDose™ child resistant, compliance prompting package.
The IntuiDose™ design was developed by AmerisourceBergen Packaging Group to
offer the highest level of child resistance, while focusing on making the
package easy to open for elderly or handicapped consumers. The design features
simple push-through dispensing of medication, at the same time providing F=1
child resistance using the Consumer Product Safety Commission's established
testing protocol. Both commercial applications were launched using Anderson's
automated packaging systems.
One design is supplied
as a four panel wallet, utilizing a 14-day Physician Sample / Starter Pack
format that includes extensive compliance prompting features and educational
tools including a 12 week planning tool, daily tracker, and a patient
guidebook. The other design launched is a 10 day anti-inflammatory therapy
designed as a two panel compliance prompting package. This pharmacy pack
features multiple products strengths in the course of treatment, using concise
graphics and instructions to guide the patient through the dosing regiment.
"The IntuiDose™ is the
natural choice as a platform for brands to introduce their product in a
compliance prompting package," states Phil DiGiacomo, Vice President of Sales
and Marketing at Anderson Packaging. "IntuiDose™ is a format that is very
consumer friendly for accessibility and meets the very stringent F=1 standards
for child resistance. It provides extensive area for patient education and
tools to aid adherence. We were able to work closely with our customers at each
stage of the development process, ensuring close collaboration from concept to
commercialization."
